Activated Glass Filter Media (AFM) is a premium high-performance filtration media manufactured from specially processed recycled glass. Engineered with precision-controlled particle size and activated surface technology, AFM provides superior suspended solids retention, enhanced hydraulic performance and extended operational life compared to conventional silica sand.
It is ideal for pressure filters, multimedia filters and advanced water & wastewater treatment applications requiring high filtration efficiency and low maintenance.

How it works
Water enters the bed
Feed water passes down through the precision-graded AFM bed in a pressure or multimedia filter.
Depth filtration captures solids
The high-porosity, uniform micro-channel structure retains suspended solids, turbidity and oil throughout the media depth.
Biofouling resisted
The activated glass surface discourages bacterial growth, keeping performance stable between services.
Efficient backwash
Low clogging tendency and efficient solids release mean shorter, less frequent backwash cycles than sand.
